Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

Weiner goes out on a limb: "Atlantic Yards, as it’s been fought over, probably won’t happen”

Rep. Anthony Weiner, currently hedging on his once-planned run for mayor, is interviewed by the Brooklyn Eagle:
Even though the planned Atlantic Yards project is outside his district, he said that if the Nets deal pulls out, there would be trouble. Still, he said, “Atlantic Yards, as it’s been fought over, probably won’t happen.”

That's not exactly a surprise. What was fought over was the project, as approved in December 2006: a 17-building project to be completed in a decade, by 2016. That was never realistic, and the State Funding Agreement and the City Funding Agreement, as signed in September 2007, well before the economic downturn, give developer Forest City Ratner a much longer leash to build a much smaller project.

But what exactly did he mean by "trouble" or, for that matter, "pulls out"? Brooklynites, residents of the region, and urban experts are not uniformly on board with Weiner's support of the project.
