From the latest Construction Alert: Pacific Street sidewalk near Sixth Ave. being restored

According to the latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Jan 2 and circulated today at 11:44 am (way late) by Empire State Development after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners (GFCP), there's only one thing new.

It regards Long Island Rail Road yard activities: "Restoration of Sidewalk on Pacific Street (near 6th Ave) will continue during this reporting period." Of course, if it is listed as new work but "will continue," that's a conundrum. (It wasn't listed in the previous alert, however.)

As in two previous alerts, it states, regarding work at 38 Sixth Avenue, aka B3, "Pursuant to permits, Con Ed vault installation is scheduled to take place." Apparently it didn't take place in the last period. Two alerts ago. the work was said to "continue," which incorrectly implied that it had started.

As with the previous alert, the current alert states, "Pursuant to permits, Con Ed will be working on B3 electrical service on Dean Street and on 6th Avenue during this period."

After hours work

As in previous weeks, there may be Saturday work. Saturday work could occur at B2 (461 Dean), B3 (38 Sixth), B11 (550 Vanderbilt), B12 (615 Dean Street), and B14 (535 Carlton).

The demolition that hasn't happened

As stated in the past 15 construction updates, demolition at Block 1120, the railyard block between Sixth and Carlton avenues, could commence upon receipt of Department of Buildings and Department of Transportation permits. A community notice will be distributed. Maybe it's not actually going to happen.
